TiLR
TiLR is the main state of the art attraction of our Robotic Telepresence Platform. Standing at four feet tall and featuring a bright 8" LCD and powerful Canon camera, TiLR is a unique blend of innovative technologies that enable Robotic Telepresence in a new, affordable way.
Open Architecture
TiLR was designed with an open architecture in mind, taking advantage of a variety of open and available hardware/software technologies that provide maximum inter-operability, ease of use, safety, and openness.
- PC-based architecture - taking advantage of cutting-edge technology that is mass adopted.
- Window XP Pro - easily installs/integrates into your existing IT infrastructure.
- WiFi connectivity - eliminating the need for proprietary communication equipment/investment.
Customization and adding functionality to the TiLR platform can be done by any IT professional or Windows programmer without the need for specialized knowledge or skill set.
Safety
Safety has been a paramount concern in designing TiLR and we have designed a number of safety features in a variety of ways. Some features have been simple mechanical considerations - others are advanced AI features built into the software. Some highlights are:
- Sonar sensors - nearby object detection.
- Bump Sensors - disabling drive motors when bumped into objects.
- Low Center of Gravity - making it nearly impossible for TiLR to tip over.
- Heartbeat - a software protocol that stops all motors if sudden network disconnections occur.
